Tribute to Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip by Alice Csuka.

February 6, 1964 - October 17, 2017.

The prairie was wild that fateful night. Houses mowed down. The fires that raged.

But nobody knew why Mother Earth engaged. Just weather, they said.

The next day was quiet eerily, so. Silent and calm, almost in denial.

Long Time Running played. On TV. It was bumped. Canada wasn't quite closed but the city was cold.

Then the rains came. At night.

Like the tears of love lost. Accepting the news. I guess.

Goodbye Gord.

A hug.

A kiss on the lips.

Sad.

But hey man, Thanks.
