The Girl and the Dream
She was a girl
And she dreamed a dream
While listening to reality in a song
A story of great joy
A new toy from a time long ago
Oh, how she wondered and imagine!
Of a time present lived not by her
So real, she felt the thoughts
And for a little while, so alone
She was a part of, Yes! She was living in that other world
It was good
She was free
For just a little while
Then she woke and opened her eyes
The dream vanish’d
Long forgotten, the Dream past
The girl grew as the days and years passed
Innocence and virtue she learnt was learned
But the magic spell of the Dream lingered in darkness
In the back of mind
Wandering alone one blissful afternoon
She came upon a wondrous place that smelled of the forest floor
Umbrellas of branches, wispy, wistful gave her great cause for joy as bright sunbeams breached the dense
A grove encountered, she lay on the offering of slumber
So she slept
And she dreamed a dream
It felt so real and it was good and she was free
And for a while, just a little while
She lived within a song surrounded by notes flashing like Fire Fly Faeries
In the very same world she dreamed she lived a long time ago
She was happy
A found friend lost in false, fictitious fiction
Hallucination in fantasy fascination
“I never want to leave this place”, she decreed
Then she woke and opened her eyes
The dream, vanish’d
